Coolest library ever made?
Deichman consists of 22 branch libraries located all over Oslo. Deichman was founded in 1785 and is Norway’s oldest and largest public library. Their main library re-opened in a new building in 2020. It is located in Bjørvika just next to the Opera House
A place to be –I think this is the best description I can give of the new main library in Oslo. With it’s six floors of books (450.000), cartoons, films, workshops, live scenes, study desks, comfortable chairs and a café this really has been a library to hang out in. Decorated with a lot of art and consisting of smart and tasteful architecture makes it into one of my favorite buildings in Oslo.
I just spent some hours there with my camera so that I could share this amazing building with my readers. Enjoy! And remember to pop by next time you are in Oslo.
